Adelaide Sri Lanka Buddhist Vihara’s annual Vesak festival for 2019 was successfully held on 18th and 19th of May under the patronage of the Chief incumbent Ven. Udagabbala Sumedha Thero and resident monks with the participation of many devotees. A special Sil program for children was held on the 18th, while a Vesak Seela Bhavana program for adults was held on the 19th at the Crafers Temple.

The children of SBS, university students and members of the community sang Bhakthi Gee. Beautifully constructed Vesak lanterns were on display during the evening celebration. Three Vesak Dan Sala were organised by volunteers and were well received by the devotees.

A Vesak Pandal depicting the noble life of the Lord Buddha was on display during the Vesak celebrations and was admired by everyone. It was exhibited on the following weekend also due to the popular demand. Coincidentally with the Vesak Celebrations, the Sacred Bo tree was relocated and a walking meditation path was unveiled for the use of monks and devotees.
