Dr (Ms) Jayantha Amarasena from the Sinhala Buddhist School which is affiliated to the Adelaide Sri Lanka Buddhist Vihara Inc. has been awarded the Ethnic Schools Primary Teacher of the Year Award 2015 by the Ethnic Schools Association of SA (ESASA). The award presented by the Australian Federation of Ethnic Schools Associations (AFESA) National Executive Director Mr Stefan Romaniw, OAM at the ESASA, AGM on Tuesday 22 September 2015 in recognition of Dr (Ms) Amarasena’s invaluable contribution to languages education in South Australia. The preamble of her award was as follows. “A dedicated, kind teacher as well as an innovative, pro-active and efficient school leader whose passion and conscientious nature have been invaluable to the success of her school community as well as the wider community”.
Mrs Chamila Chandrasena from the Sinhala Buddhist School has been awarded the Ethnic Schools Primary Teacher of the Year Award 2012 by the Ethnic Schools Association of SA (ESASA) on 18th September 2012.
