On 24th February 2019, 10 of our members participated in an education session where CPR was shown to the standard approved by the RACGP, which meets Australian Resuscitation Council requirements. This course was resourced by a panel of Doctors from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, SA Branch and was conducted at the Cultural Hub premises. The participants had the opportunity to pratice the CPR techniques under the guidance of this panel.
More such sessions will be conducted in due course to train our members with this all important first aid skill, which could save a life in an emergency until the paramedics arrive.
A defribillator is also available at the main shrine room now thanks to Dr. Sankha Karunaratne, whose generosity is very much appreciated by the committee.
